Fiona is afraid.

Excerpt from Finding Fiona:

Unexpectedly she heard footsteps in the hall outside the door. Should she scream for help? Could it be someone else? She had to take the chance. She couldn’t pass up an opportunity. She opened her mouth, drew in a huge breath, and let out a piercing scream that even surprised herself at its volume. The door burst open, and he entered, face dark with anger, shouting at her to shut up.
